Music is an integral part of human experience. Used in celebrations, rituals, and everyday life, it expresses the heights and depths of human feelings and emotions, the joys and the sorrows encountered by all. Significantly the study of music combines human emotional experience and intellectual cognition. Music provides a means for creativity and self-expression. Through music, students learn that their thoughts and feelings can be communicated non-verbally by composing and improvising original music involving higher-order thinking processes, such as those involved in skill mastery, analysis and synthesis.(California State Framework for the Visual and Performing Arts)

Classroom Sessions

Self Esteem

Making Music
An educational program designed to complement and enhance the understanding of music. In this session, children discover three basic fundamentals of music-beat, rhythm and pitch-which enables them to develop basic music skills and comprehension. These fundamentals are reinforced with activites, reading music and singing. Most of the tunes are familiar to children, with words that restate the lesson. Visual aids and instruments are provided by the artist, as well as guitar and keyboard accompaniment.
