Dear Friend of the Arts,

As we approach the close of the calendar year, Tuolumne County Arts Alliance is looking forward to 2018 and the many programs planned for the year ahead. One of our most important activities is the work we do with Tuolumne County schools. Our Arts in the Schools (AIS) programs began in 1995 and has grown every year. Some of our programs are funded in part through grants from the California Arts Council. These State grants are completed through funding from local support.

Below is a partial list of our children’s art programs:

Arts Reach To Schools ~ ARTS

ARTS is an arts partnership between local k-12 educational institutions and local teaching artists, represented by the Arts Alliance. These teachers bring California State Standards-Based arts experiences to school age children. The ARTS program also serves after school programs and P.M. Clubs.

Artists in Schools ~ AIS

AIS is a California Arts Council matching grant program designed to support high quality artists in residency in schools for use with class-time, or after school programs.

The Celebration of the Arts Student Exhibit
The Celebration of the Arts in Schools Annual Student Art Show is a kindergarten through grade 12 student art exhibition that honors our best student artists for one month every Spring.

Poetry Out Loud

A project of the Tuolumne County Arts Alliance and the California Arts Council, this program is the only CAC program that targets high school age students exclusively. After local county competitions and performances, this program culminates with State Finals and a National Competition held in Washington, DC. Tuolumne County’s Levi Lowe was one of the nine finalists out of 367,000 students nationwide in 2015! We are proud of this program and are asking for your continuing support! TCAA has succeeded in sending and winning 3 Statewide Competitions in the last 3 years.

Spring and Summer Arts Camps

TCAA arts camps bring local art instructors to teach their specialty at week-long camps in Columbia and at KASA, on the Historic Dome campus. 2018 marks the 13th year of the Columbia Summer Arts Camp – and the 5th year for the KASA KAMPS. The first KAMP will be held over spring break.

Imagine if these arts programs were to disappear! Keeping arts in our schools is important because the arts enhance student participation in the learning process and provide a well-rounded education, while preparing them for their adult career choices, experiences and successes!

Now is your opportunity to help TCAA insure these programs will continue as they have for the past 48 years. We have a goal of raising $15,000. Our year-end appeal comes at a time many of us contribute to causes that are important to us. This is a time that we can say thank you and pay forward the work our artists and program directors present every year. If you have friends who enjoy the arts, please forward this year end appeal from TCAA to them!

We have a few convenient ways for you to donate:

  • Create a membership or, donate at the bottom of this page

The Tuolumne County Arts Alliance is a 501-c3 not-for-profit organization and contributions are tax-deductible as specified by law.

Thank you for your support!
